British Mission 7b - Boffin Buggers Binky's Brand-New Brisfit

Summary

Narrative

Synopsis

• Bill & Derek come in low and head for airfield.
• Binky & biffo engage Walter in dogfight.
• Walter scatters British fighters and goes head on with Bill.
• Bill bombs airfield at low altitude to score 2 hits. Avoids collision with Walter.
• Derek tries to evade Walter. Binky comes to aid but Walter gives him the slip.
• Derek starts bombing run but Walter shoots him down.
• Walter makes quick exit with many holes and satisfied Teutonic smirk.

Sergeant Derek Thrusk, 84 Squadron, RFC.

Thrusk gritted his teeth and lined the Brisfit up on the German airfield. They would make Johnny Boche suffer. He and Norton had Binky and Biffo escorting them, and had seen Bill and Ron make a successful bombing run, scattering German mechanics in all directions. There was only one German in the air, and although he was firing at them, the fire was at long range and ineffective...a few rounds had hit them, but had done no damage.

The Brisfit lurched from side to side suddenly. Thrusk glanced back to see Norton waving frantically the tail of an aeroplane, fluttering though the skies behind them, narrowly missing the Albatros that had been pestering them.

"Oh dear" thought Thrusk, as he realised that the tail belonged to their Brisfit. "Oh dear oh dear"
